This journal was founded in 1972 as an international academic publication titled “Upravlyayushchie Sistemy i Mashiny”.
The founders are the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the International Research and Training Center for Information Technologies and Systems of NASU and MESU, V.M. Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics of NASU.
The current title of the journal is «Control Systems and Computers». The articles are published in English and Ukrainian with at least half of the articles in English in each issue.

Certificate of the state registration number is KV 23933-13773 PR from 26.04.2019.

The aim and tasks of the journal: journal publishes original research papers containing the results of research in the theory and practice of information technology and systems, pattern thinking, knowledge processing methods, and tools, and mathematical modeling.
